Canada extends the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel

Canada is extending the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) making it possible for Ukrainians and their family members to apply overseas for CUAET visas free of charge until July 15, 2023.

In addition, anyone with a CUAET visa can travel to Canada until March 31, 2024

Those in Canada have until March 31, 2024 to extend or adjust their temporary status free of charge.

Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced the measure today at Café Ukraine in Ottawa.

Canada is making it possible for Ukrainians and their families to access settlement services on arrival and while they are here.

Figures for total Ukrainian entries to Canada shows between March 17, 2022 and March 16, 2023, total overseas CUAET temporary resident applications were 943,730 of which 616,429 were approved. During the same period, people who arrived in Canada under CUAET program were 133, 323.
