Thousands converged on Dufferin Terrace at the popular Chateau Frontenac to mark Canada Day with messages from official delegations from both Canada and the provincial governments.
The noon event included raising of Canada flag, rendition of the national anthem, cannon salute and cutting of birthday cake.
Members of the Royal 22nd Regiment, a British-style infantry added glamour to the event with their bearskin hat.
