St. Catharines Museum – Welland Canals Centre is a place to visit in Niagara region.
The museum, located on the St. Lawrence Seaway welcomes tourists interested in seeing how boats go through the lock of the canal.
The museum has a viewing platform for visitors. During the maritime season, the Welland Canal plays host to boat watchers out to see the huge boats snail through the narrow lock of the canal.
According to the greatlakes-seaway.com website, irrespective of operating conditions, all vessels must be clear of the Welland Canal at 12.00 hours on December 31, 2018. This will mark the end of Maritime Season 2018. The season starts around February/March.
