OTTAWA, ONTARIO – Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Andrew Scheer, supports the efforts of Daniel Deschamps and Dany Morin to bring cellular phone coverage to Highway 155.

“Last April, I had the chance to speak with Mr. Morin about this issue. Leaving the region for Montreal, I was able to see first-hand that there is no cellphone coverage between Lac-Bouchette and La Tuque. It’s not right to have no cellular coverage on Highway 155, it’s a matter of safety and economic development,” Mr. Scheer said.

Scheer will meet Deschamps and Morin to discuss this important issue when he visits the region to take part in the 63e Traversée internationale du lac Saint-Jean.

“Justin Trudeau is running huge deficits, but won’t provide help to bring cellphone coverage to Highway 155. Conservatives will always work on issues that affect the regions of Quebec such as softwood lumber, supply management and better cellphone coverage,” concluded the Conservative Leader.
