The Battle of Chippawa was fought on July 5, 1814. The Battlefield monument is located on Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls.
The monument is a dedication to British and Canadian forces consisting of regulars, militia and Aboriginal warriors.
“After four months of heavy fighting with major action at Lundy’s Lane, Fort Erie and Cooks Mills, the invaders were forced back to the United States,” according to the plaque on the monument.
