Hundreds marched in Toronto today, to protest the order of no entry placed by the United States on seven Muslim countries for 90 days.
The protesters congregated in front of the American Consulate where they listened to various speakers who criticized the ban.
They had a sit-in on the road obstructing the early morning flow of traffic for a few minutes.
Toronto Councillor Joe Mihevc called on the protesters to contact the council on making sure Toronto remains a sanctuary city.
They marched peacefully to the front of the city hall where they chanted slogans.
Councillor Joe Cressy called on protesters to stay together in their struggle on behalf of immigrants and refugees.
A few minutes of silence was observed in memory of Muslims killed in a recent shooting during prayers at a Mosque in Quebec.
