There are private individuals and organizations who may be providing false or misleading information on claiming asylum in Canada. Claiming asylum is not a free ticket into Canada. If you cross the U.S. border into Canada outside of a port of entry, you are breaking the law and you could be putting yourself at risk. There are specific requirements to be considered a refugee and if you do not meet them, you will be asked to leave or be removed.
